Windswept
The site installation is the third iteration in a series. The original work was
based on the meaning of home and memories of lived experience within
the edges of rooms, doorways, and windows. The photographic images of
memories illuminated by transient light were printed on silk. The steel
frames continue to provide stability for the silk to move, change, and
respond in the elements–they are never the same.

Last year’s catastrophic storms in Vermont, resulting in the loss of lives
and homes, caused us to reconsider the meaning of earlier installations,
given that they too were damaged by extreme weather, and to think about
new possibilities. The contemplation of home and climate change also
reminds us of the fragility of our outer and inner spaces that require
thoughtful tending, care, and love. The images on the silk seen here were
made from a combination of mediums derived from and inspired by the
beauty of the park’s landscape. The colors draw from its palette of the
fields, trees, water, sky, and light.
